For many space collectors, the manned Mercury, Gemini & Apollo flights are the only flights they collect. The unmanned flights are often forgotten. But where would we be today without the unmanned launches. Communications satellites are used today throughout the world more than most people think. Weather satellites have saved countless numbers of lives due to early forecasting. Research satellites have helped us better understand the Earth and the interplanetary probes have helped us better understand the universe in which we live. The unmanned satellites are really the unsung heroes of the space program. |
